Double AA are Achim Oppermann and Achim Sobotta. Their sole single as the energetic Euro-style dance group No Limits has proven to be my favourite single of all time. On the 27th of July 1998, I finally recieved a copy of this single on CD and it was an important stage in making my extensive music collection complete. In the same package, I also recieved the album Love Is The Answer by Heath Hunter and The Pleasure Company. Upon examining the credits upon the album, i discovered that the producers of this album were no more than the supremely talented Oppermann and Sobotta.
Heath Hunter's lack of a breakthrough on the UK music scene has always mystified me. The summery cleverly composed vocal pop-dance would surely have been a surefire winner. In mainland Europe, five singles have been released, two of which (Revolution In Paradise and Master & Servant) are on the album in their orignal form. The divine Walking On Clouds makes an appearance in a slightly different form and El Mambo appears to be a very primitive mix of Mambo, the final Double AA collaborated single of Heath Hunter.
Heath Hunter briefly reappeared (without his Pleasure Company) on WEA during 1998 and 1999 with two singles "Weedy Weedy Wee" and "Been Around The World". The change of production team was obvious and the singles were far weaker than any of the tracks on the album. At the time of writing (Oct 2002), there are also murmurings of a new single, entitled "Gigolo".

Gemm, or failing that eBay Germany.
A little history... The year was 1995. I was on holiday in Southern Germany and this song was on the radio in a music shop i was browsing in. I was transfixed. This was the pinnacle that the European Happy-Hardcore-esque music scene had been building to. At that time my grasp of German wasn't enough to be able to ask the cashier what it was, which would annoy me for some months. Over the weeks that followed, i heard the song many times on N-Joy radio (which i received through an audio channel back home via the Astra Satellite and had become a keen listener to). Yet (as with most things i liked on the station) they didn't name it. Until one morning in the autumn when i was preparing to leave the house, the perennial "Diese hits horst ihr bei N-Joy Radio in der nachste stunde". I heard the words "No Limits", followed by a snatch of 'The Logical Song'. My search was suddenly a lot easier. Having studied the N-Joy Charts and Hit-Tip listings on NDR teletext each week, i knew what the title of the song was as soon as i heard the artist.
I left a tape running in my stereo and came home to spool through it and find the 'holy grail' of my musical searches and it was there. I still have the tape, regardless of the fact that i now have the single on CD as it reminds me of the passion i hunted this track with.
Still looking... There is still one track from that era which eludes me. It was in much the same vein as The Logical Song, with high-pitched vocals and a beautifully bouncy happycore melody. The main hookline is "I never had a point of view, 'cause my mind was always someone else's mind", which is taken from 'Breath of Life' by Erasure. The vocals could acutally be the originals, pitched a few notes up. Other vocal stabs used in the track include "Back to Future" (highly similar to the vocal sample used on the Westbam track of the same name) and a fairly generic "Reggae, man!".
